WHO ARE THE LA SALETTES?
The La Salette family includes priests, brothers, sisters, and laity, all dedicated to the charism of reconciliation. The Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette (priests and brothers) and the Sisters of Our Lady of La Salette work in collaboration with lay people to share this mission throughout the world.
WHO ARE THE LA SALETTE LAITY?
La Salette Laity consists of men and women inspired by the Apparition of Our Lady of La Salette, striving for holiness and committed to spreading Mary’s message. Active in over twenty-five countries, La Salette Laity participate in ongoing formation, minister as co-missionaries, and live out the charism of La Salette in their daily lives. They are Catholic laity, aged 18 and older, involved in ministry at La Salette Shrines, parishes, or other settings.
WHAT IS THE LA SALETTE LAITY SUMMIT?
The La Salette Laity Summit is a triennial event hosted by the La Salettes of the Province of Mary, Mother of the Americas, in collaboration with the Sisters of Our Lady of La Salette. This global gathering provides an opportunity to deepen one’s relationship with Christ through Mary by engaging in prayer, learning, and faith-sharing.
WHY IS THIS A LAITY SUMMIT?
The summit highlights the role of laity in continuing the mission of Our Lady of La Salette. Mary’s message is universal and timeless, calling all people to conversion, reconciliation, and faith. The event fosters a deeper connection between laity, La Salette communities, clergy and religious, and the universal church by strengthening the mission to spread Mary’s message in today’s world.
WHAT IS THE THEME OF THIS YEAR’S SUMMIT?
Embracing the papal Vatican theme, this year’s summit theme is “Pilgrims of Hope.” As La Salette Laity, we are called to journey in faith, embracing Mary’s message of reconciliation and bringing hope to a world in need.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE LAITY SUMMIT?
The summit seeks to:
- Spread the universal message of Our Lady of La Salette, which remains relevant to our lives today.
- Strengthen the partnership between the La Salette religious community, the people they serve, and friends and neighbors.
- Deepen faith and foster a stronger connection to Jesus through Mary’s message of reconciliation.
HOW WILL THE SUMMIT ACCOMPLISH THIS GOAL?
The summit will emphasize three key areas:
- Understanding the Apparition – Learning about the message of La Salette and its personal application.
- Global Impact of La Salette – Exploring how the Missionaries, Sisters, and La Salette Laity spread Mary’s message worldwide.
- Practical Application – Integrating La Salette spirituality into daily life, ministries, and community service.
HOW WILL ATTENDING THE SUMMIT BENEFIT ME?
- It provides a way to grow closer to Christ through Marian devotion, particularly through La Salette spirituality.
- For parishes previously served by La Salettes, it offers an opportunity to reconnect and form new
- Free resources will be available to support La Salette spirituality in your parish.
WHEN AND WHERE WILL THE SUMMIT TAKE PLACE?
The summit will take place June 5 – 7 at the following locations:
- Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church – June 5th
- Saint Oliver Plunkett Catholic Church – June 6th
- Catholic Church of Saint Ann – June 7th
WHAT IS THE COST OF ATTENDING?
$30 per person, including meals.
WHAT LANGUAGE TRACKS ARE AVAILABLE?
English • Spanish • Youth.
